Charity Walk · 21 August 2024

Forest Holme Hospice Charity was set-up to ensure that everyone in the local community affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement gets the care and support they need, either at home or in our dedicated hospice facility. We need to raise £1M each year to deliver the highest level of care.

Story

On the 21st August, staff and other supporters of Forest Holme will be walking the 18 miles from Sandbanks to Hengistbury Head and back to raise vital funds to support all the amazing things they do.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity is proud to support the life-enhancing work of Forest Holme Hospice, part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. Established on 26 April 1994, Friends of Forest Holme as it was known then, was set up to fundraise for the new specialist palliative care unit.

Over the years the Charity has been committed to funding additional nursing staff for the inpatient ward, two counsellors to provide psychological support to patients and their families, a variety of complementary therapies, medical equipment and practical fixtures and fittings to make the Hospice a more homely environment.
