Story
I am raising money for Elsie's Story as a member of staff at Farnborough Road Infant School.
Elsie's Story is a charitable trust set up in the name of Elsie Dot Stancombe who we lost so tragically in the Southport incident in July 2024.
The trust has been established with the principle objective to give grants to causes in Elsie's name, including community projects, medical care and support for individuals and families in times of need. With the main aim, to spread smiles as big as Elsie's, continuing to write the pages of her story.
Elsie never passed you in the corridor without saying 'hello', 'good morning' or showing you her gorgeous smile. She was unforgettable, charismatic and the epitome of joy and sparkle. Elsie loved life, school and her friends.
After receiving a ballot place in the London Marathon, it felt like a perfect opportunity to support Elsie's Story, who are doing incredible work in our community. I will of course, be channelling my inner Elsie Stancombe for the whole 26.2 miles. Forever in our Farnborough hearts, Elsie Dot, you really were one of a kind.
Some words from the charity…
We’re so proud to announce that Elsie’s Story will once again be taking on the London Marathon!
Training is well underway and our incredible runners are fighting fit — ready to conquer 26.2 gruelling miles through the streets of our Capital, all in Elsie’s name.
Please donate as little or as much as you can to help us keep writing the pages of Elsie’s Story.
Every penny raised helps us to provide grants to children and young people — supporting families in our community with specialist equipment, creative projects, and opportunities that bring smiles as big as Elsie’s. Each step our runners take is for her, and for every child we’re able to help along the way.
Thank you for cheering us on, for donating, and for helping to keep Elsie’s spirit shining bright. 💖
