Why these books?

They all offer incredible insights, stories and guidance on what it means to be human inside a system that doesn't always allow for that.

They bring ideas, practical solutions, positive stories and hope for the future for anyone that understands the mental health toll that healthcare has on those that hold it up.

My copies are dog-eared and full of post-its and scribbles. If you win, you'll get brand new copies of each book.

- provide direct support for doctors and healthcare professionals, through their confidential, independent, counsellor-led support groups.

- roll out the national adoption of the BSI Standard for suicide prevention across the NHS

- address the root causes of burnout and the conditions that put healthcare workers at risk

- continue to raise awareness of the link between patient safety and healthcare professionals burnout.

- advocate for better working lives for everyone in healthcare

Doctors in Distress is a charity close to my heart because I left my medical career believing I was the only one who couldn't cope with the stress. I want to help as many doctors I can to not just survive, but to thrive in their career that gives so much to others.
