Story
Round two?? After an amazing day in April 2023, I seem to have experienced some sort of amnesia, forgotten all my pain, and signed up to run the 2024 London AND Paris Marathons for Stoke Association 💜
Stroke Association is a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. In 2021 my dad (Jon) had a stroke completely out of nowhere. Common risk factors that can lead to a stroke include being over 55, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoker or being diabetic of which he was none. It was a complete surprise and incredibly shocking and scary.
A stroke happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off, killing brain cells. Damage to the brain can affect how the body works. It can also change how you think and feel. The effects of a stroke depend on where it takes place in the brain, and how big the damaged area is. Having a stroke can be life-changing. It can happen to anyone of any age and affects everyone in different ways.
I am fundraising so Stroke Association can be there to support families who’s lives have changed after experiencing a stroke and to continue vital research to improve the lives of stroke survivors. I know the money raised will make a huge difference.
As with last year, the more sponsors I get, the less likely I am to quit so all donations great or small are hugely appreciated! I would love to see loads of people there on the day (in London, not expecting you to travel to Paris) so block out April 21st 2024 in your diaries! Thank you all xxxxxx 💜
