Emily's fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support

London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge 2025 · 24 May 2025 to 25 May 2025 ·
Hello team,
This May, I am running the London to Brighton Ultra Marathon (100km) to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This run is a physical challenge and mental challenge - one that I can only do because of the strength shown by my Auntie during her life, a woman I want to honour and emulate.
Auntie Elaine was a beacon of light, love, generosity and kindness. She walked through life with strength and grace, putting others before herself, even when she wasn't feeling her usual self. Her spirit and resilience were admirable, she always had an ear to listen, arms to hug and a funny little quote or story to tell.
By running 100km, I aim to raise awareness and money for Macmillan. This charity was always a phone call away when Auntie Elaine was feeling low, when the cancer was having a bad day, but also continued to be there for her and her family when times were brighter. Auntie Elaine was always thankful for Macmillan; they helped her to see more sunrises and create more lasting memories.
Your support means the world to me. Whether it’s a small donation or simply a message of encouragement, every bit helps.
Together, we can make a difference and ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
Thank you for your support and for helping me continue my beautiful Auntie's legacy. I miss her every day.
As true as Auntie Elaine's words have ever been, "where there's a will, there's a way, just put your best foot forwards."
The lyrics to this song, the song played as auntie Elaine left the church for the final time, say it all:
