Story
Thanks for visiting my page:
My Step-dad, Les.
Suddenly on the 04th of October, Les had a cardiac arrest at home in bed. Myself and my mum, were unsure on what to do as we both needed Les, he provided us with stability and guidance. He was not only my mums partner but also my father figure which helped guide me into the position and person I am now. I performed CPR on Les in hope he would survive and make it through however he later passed away in hospital with family around him.
Les will never know how much he has done for mum and I, nor will he ever understand how pivitol he has been I’m not only our lives but the people around him too.
I want to dedicate this run to Les and the BHF so that people experiencing cardiac complications or family of those of people unwell and recognised and Thanked.
Although, the half marathon is not until October. I will be training until then to make sure i complete it in good time and to make sure I do Les proud as he would not be impressed if he found out I walk some of it!
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
