TCT is a charity very close to my heart. My sister was diagnosed with ALL at the age of 7 and was treated at the LRI. The LRI only had a children's oncology ward (Ward 27) and the TCT team was keen to create a space solely for older children. This not only supported Jemima through her chemotherapy treatment but also during her transition from childhood through to her teens when she was in remission. The TCT really understood the importance of my sister and I having a relationship, inspite of her diagnosis meaning I was able to access similar support during this difficult, isolating time. This fundraising is so important to spread the word of an incredible charity and for such an important cause that can be an isolating time in an already confusing period of life.
