Story
Endometriosis is a chronic condition, affecting around 1 in 10 women. It's a condition where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb grow in other parts of the body, impacting daily life, from causing debilitating pain to fertility challenges and emotional wellbeing. As of right now, it currently takes over 9 years to get a proper diagnosis.
At the end of May, I underwent laparoscopic excision of endometriosis and adhesiolysis, in order to diagnose endometriosis and relieve pain. Prior to this, endometriosis wasn't a condition I had much knowledge on and the resources and support that Endometriosis UK provided, helped assist and aid in my understanding of the condition, and how to live with it.
Throughout the month of July, I plan to walk 9,000+ steps a day. By taking part in the Walk for Endo, I want to support Endometriosis UK's vital work. They provide essential information, support services, local groups and campaigns to speed up diagnoses, improve access to care, and raise awareness.
Every donation will help fund better resources for those affected, drive research, and ensure people get the understanding and treatment they deserve. Whether you've been touched by endometriosis yourself or simply want to support an amazing charity, your support means the world, thank you so much for being part of my journey!!
