We are taking part in the Barnsley 10k to raise money for the Ey Up charity. As speech and language therapists in Barnsley we have seen first hand how the charity supports teams in our community NHS trust to enhance care and support we provide.

We are so grateful to the charity over the years supporting our team to be innovative and further the type of therapy we can provide. This has included funding:

- ‘VR headsets in order to use withVR for stammering affirming therapy’

- books for every school in Barnsley where the main protagonist is a child who stammers,

- a stammering pride flag for a Barnsley school,

- stammering pride merch for all our clinics spreading the message that stammering voices are valued, important and respected in Barnsley.

- ‘Just Stutter’ postcards for our clinics - enabling young people to hear relatable messages about stammering, feel less alone and express their experiences.

- equipment to help support children who are non speaking to communicate in different ways (eg iPads with communication software and button switches)

- resources for a ‘speech and language therapy box’ for each class in a Barnsley special school
