I grew up with a mum who had an alcohol addiction and from the age of 13, after my Nan passed, I had to take on a lot of the responsibility for her and my brother.

Growing up with an alcoholic parent is tough and unfortunately, I’m not alone. 1 in 5 children today have an alcoholic parent.

I never knew about NACOA when I was younger so I battled it alone until I had no other choice but to seek help. This is one of the many reasons I want to raise awareness of the great work NACOA does, to ensure fewer children are alone.
