Emily's Sponsored Silence - Rescue Tiger Appeal

Sponsored Silence · 30 July 2025
Hi, I'm Emily and I work on the carnivore section as an animal keeper at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm near Bristol, England.
Back in 2019, Aqua the tiger was rescued from the back of a lorry on the Poland/Belarus border by an animal rescue charity called AAP. AAP have kept Aqua and the other tigers since their rescue and worked hard to rehabilitate them. They are all now in permanent homes, except Aqua. This is where Noah's Ark Zoo Farm comes in. Noah's Ark Zoo Farm have offered Aqua a forever home and are currently trying to raise £175,000 to build him a large, enriching enclosure.
On Wednesday 30th July 2025, I will be doing a Sponsored Silence. This will mean I have to stay quiet (no talking or singing!) between my working hours of 8am till 5pm. This week is a special week for tigers, as on Tuesday 29th July it is International Tiger Day! What better way to celebrate than fundraise for all things tigers?
Back Story:
For anybody who knows me, I am one chatterbox! I constantly sing, dance, laugh and will talk to anybody and everybody. My family, friends and colleagues often describe me as the one who is constantly chatting! I'm sure my colleagues are going to be grateful for a day of peace and quiet!
Myself and the rest of the carnivore team are excited to welcome Aqua to the zoo and work with him. We feel we will be able to provide him with a long-enriching life here at the zoo, and help raise awareness of not only the trading in tigers, but their conservation in the wild.
Please support however you can, whether that be 5p or £50. Every little will help us build Aqua his forever home.
