For those affected by Alzheimer's

is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

I am organising my own swim · 10 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 · Start fundraising for this event

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi everyone 👋

This June, I’m setting myself a challenge to swim 5km (or more!) to raise money for a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.

Like so many families, dementia has personally affected mine. It slowly took away the memories, independence, and parts of the beautiful lady who meant so much to me… my Nan.

For the last 8 years, I’ve worked caring for people living with this heartbreaking disease. I’ve seen first-hand the strength, courage, and resilience that so many people with dementia show every single day. Even during their hardest moments, many still managed to smile, laugh, and face life with incredible bravery.

Every person I’ve cared for, alongside the memory of my Nan, has inspired me to take on this challenge — even though my fitness right now is far from its best. There will definitely be tough days, but I’ll keep pushing through thinking of all the wonderful people I’ve met whose lives have been touched by dementia.

This challenge is for them ❤️

Any support, donations, or even just sharing this post would mean the world to me and help raise awareness for a disease that affects so many families every day.

Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey 🏊‍♀️
