I am running the London Marathon in April 2026 in support of Sobell House, a place that means so much to me and my family.

In 2015, my beautiful sister Rachael was diagnosed with cervical cancer. In 2016, she first went to Sobell House for respite care and later returned for palliative care when her cancer became terminal.

Sobell House gave my sister comfort, dignity and peace in the hardest moments of her life. They didn’t just care for her, they cared for us. They supported my family through the most heartbreaking experience imaginable, both during her final days and long after, offering counselling and ongoing support when we needed it most.

They were unbelievably kind and accommodating to all of Rachael’s needs and wishes, making sure she was as comfortable as possible. They let us be by her side whenever we wanted, even through the night. And despite everything, she still found joy in the little things especially the afternoon drinks trolley, which always made her smile.

Sobell House is a place of warmth, compassion and love during the darkest days of people’s lives. The work they do is truly life changing, not just for patients but for the families left behind.

I’m running the London Marathon in Rachael’s memory and in honour of the care Sobell House gave her and all of us. If you are able to donate, no matter how small, you will be helping Sobell House continue this incredible work for other families facing their hardest moments.
