Story
This year Emma & Anthony are running The Great North Run to help raise vital funds for Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw. This is a local charity which is close to the hearts of many people in and around Carlisle. They provide care for those with life limiting illnesses and the hospice can only run their services through the donations from events such as the Great North Run.
In April 2025 the hospice cared for Anne, Emma’s Nana in her final days. Something the family will be forever grateful for, the care and compassion they gave not only to Anne but also the family around her. The hospice also cared for Anthony’s Grandad Arthur many years ago, this is why they are fundraising to ensure that Eden valley hospice & Jigsaw is here for another 30 years and support families in the local area.
Emma & Anthony’s amazing niece Ella who is 12 years old has a rare brain condition called Lissencephaly. Along with this she also suffers from Epilepsy. Ella needs round the clock care to ensure she is happy, comfortable & pain free. Jigsaw helps families like Ella’s who have children with life limiting disabilities that very rarely manage to get respite due to their child’s medical needs being so complex. As a family they have seen first hand how important it is for Ella’s parents Hayleigh & Rob to have a much needed respite knowing that Ella is safe and getting the best of care. Jigsaw wrap their hands around the family not just the child in their care.
Thank you for reading our story, every donation will help this amazing place keep going.
