George Fisher's Tea Round (Self-guided route, not an organised event) · 5 September 2025
Hello wonderful people. In September Tom and I are heading out to do a ‘hilly run’ in the Lake District to raise money for Rainbow Trust, a children’s charity who supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
My bother Daniel was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was just 3 months old and he lost his fight just before his first birthday. This year Daniel would have turned 30.
I truly believe that the support this charity gave influenced how we were able to continue to live our lives and not take a second for granted. Life is precious and as far too many people know, you’re never sure what’s around the corner. My beautiful family (mum, dad, Matt and I) are forever grateful. We are fundraising in his memory to help more families receive this life changing support.
The ‘hilly run’ is the George Fisher's Tea Round which is a 30 mile route with 12,000+ feet (3500+m) of ascent that starts and finishes at the doors of George Fisher in Keswick. Although this sounds like hard work, as many people will know, there is no place I’m happier than in the hills in a muddy pair of trainers with by amazing husband.
I totally acknowledge times are tight and there are many good causes to support out there. If you can spare a few quid, it would mean a tonne but if not, some words of encouragement are always appreciated.
More information about the charity:
