In memory of our Dad ❤️

In March 2025, we very sadly lost our amazing Dad to oesophageal cancer.

Dad really was the centre of our family. He was the person who brought us all together, and losing him has left such a huge hole in all of our lives. We miss him every single day.

Dad had always been incredibly fit, healthy and active. He loved sport, training and loved going out for a run. Which made his diagnosis and everything that followed even harder for us to comprehend. He showed incredible mental and physical strength, continuing to run and give it all he had, whilst battling against this cruel diagnosis.

When we came across Santa in the City, a 5K Family Night Run in London, and realised it was taking place on 8th December—Dad’s birthday—we knew it was the perfect way to mark his birthday.

We're raising money for OPA, a charity that supports people affected by oesophageal and gastric cancers. They provide help and support to patients, caregivers and families, as well as working to raise much-needed awareness of these cancers.

If, by doing this in Dad's memory, we can raise some money to help other people and families, and help raise more much-needed awareness of oesophageal cancer, it would mean so much to all of us.

On his birthday, we'll all be together, doing something he loved, in a place he loved, and remembering the incredible dad, grandad, husband and father-in-law that we were so lucky to have.

Happy Birthday, Dad ❤️ We love and miss you more than words can say.
