Story
On 6th April, I'll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for War Child - a brilliant charity that educates and stands up for the rights of children living in war zones. With so many desperate stories in the news about children's lives being torn apart by conflict, I felt strongly that War Child was the charity I wanted to fundraise for this year.
I've reached out for sponsorship in the past for similar events but preparing has been very different this time. This is the first time I've tested my body and trained for a race since being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. It's been challenging and at times I've doubted my capacity to do it, but my training runs have gone better than I'd hoped and I'm looking forward to race day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know that money is tight for lots of people just now but, by making a donation, you'll be making a difference to thousands of children whose lives have been turned upside-down by conflict. You’ll help War Child provide the emergency care and support they need to overcome the emotional and physical toll of war and access to services to allow them to catch up on lost education. Your donation will help to transform their futures for the better.
