Story
Welcome to my page!
My name is Emma and this page is about raising money for the specialist equipment unit of The Teesside Family Foundation. I plan to run 70 miles / 110km in 24 hours between Carlisle Castle and Newcastle's Millenium Bridge 'The Wall' #ratrace.

The money will be used to buy a specialist wheelchair or car seat for a family with a disabled child from Teesside. The equipment will be life changing for the family where the quality of life is otherwise very restricted.
About me and why on earth would I want to cover 70 miles in 24 hours across the country?!
I didn't start running until I was 30. I'm not fast, or technically brilliant however for my own mental wellbeing it was something I could do around work and my two boys and found due to being on my own it helped alleviate the burdens of everyday life and somehow made getting through a bit easier.
I've now ran 5 marathons including New York, Berlin and Edinburgh - over 20 half marathons, and this year will be my 10th Great North Run....1000s of miles during Covid helping me work and home school and at 43 ran my first ultra marathon last year - a brutal 35 miles/ 70km.
For me, my own mobility and motivation to get out has helped me through alot of loss and many dark days.
If I didn't have that, I'd be lost...
This is my way of giving back.
Can you support a Teesside family? #welookafterourown
Dig deep and let's improve the quality of life for one of our own families!
