Emma's fundraiser for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

Emma Booth is raising money for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

Doddie Aid 2026 · 1 January 2026 to 5 February 2026 ·

Doddie Aid is a personal exercise challenge that takes place from 1 January and runs for 5 weeks, all whilst raising funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to help find a cure for motor neuron disease (MND).

Story

ALS doesn't just take from the body. It takes from the spirit. It takes from the identity. It takes from the quiet places inside you that no one else sees. Every loss feels like another funeral for the life you used to live. One day you're walking. Then you're not. One day you're lifting a cup. Then you can't. One day you're speaking clearly. Then the words betray you. And every time something slips away, a piece of you goes with it. People see the wheelchair. They see the equipment. They see the caregivers. But they don't see the grief. They don't see the fear. They don't see the nights when you lie awake wondering what tomorrow will take. They don't see the loneliness of waking up in a body that keeps changing without your permission.

Doddie Aid is a personal exercise challenge that takes place from 1st January and runs for five weeks, all whilst raising funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Founded by Rob Wainwright, Doddie Aid is My Name’5 Doddie Foundation’s most successful campaign to date. Since 2021, over £6 million has been raised for much needed research into MND/ALS. Over 100,000 people have taken part and more than 11 million miles have been logged.

I'm hoping to cover 500 miles again and raise some more cash for MND research whilst I do it - thank you for donating and supporting My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
