Story
I am taking part in the Run Leicester Festival for LOROS Hospice on Sunday 11th October 2026.l by completing a Half Marathon. Back in 2010 I famously watched a friend do the Sheffield Half from the window of our Uni flat and announced "that's it, I'm going to do a half marathon" needless to say... That never happened! 16 years on I am now determined more than ever to make that come true and what greater opportunity and motivation to do it for a charity that means so so much to me and my family.
Dad was one of my biggest cheerleaders, he honestly believed I could do anything and was always supportive of any challenge I set myself. He was also one himself to challenge himself and took part in many walking challenges so I know he'll be right there with me.
Most of you know the impact LOROS had on us as a family, the invaluable support and care the provided Dad and us at such a vulnerable time. They made the worst time of our lives something we can look back on with comfort and pride amongst the sadness and scary moments.
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
