I have decided to run my first ever 10K for the amazing charity that I am proud to be the CEO of, but more importantly I am running for every survivor who has taken the incredibly brave step in leaving an abusive relationship, it takes immense courage and strength. I will hold in my thoughts those that remain in an abusive relationship and the countless victims who have sadly lost their lives to this horrendous crime. For me I am one of the lucky ones who not only survived, but became a Mummy and a wife, something I thought would never happen, showing that life after abuse really is possible.

I Choose Freedom provides refuge and a path to freedom to adult and child survivors fleeing domestic abuse. Their communal and individual refuges across East and West Surrey provide shelter, care and advocacy for around 100 adults and 150 children each year.

Once in refuge they are safe, secure and can receive the practical and emotional support they need to recover, begin healing and be empowered to rebuild their lives.
