Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2025 Β· 11 May 2025 Β·

Yorkshire Cat Rescue exists to save the lives of abandoned or unwanted cats and kittens across Yorkshire and beyond. YCR operates a no-kill policy and neuters all cats and kittens before rehoming. YCR receives no central funding and has to fundraise to meet its vet, food and heating bills etc.

Story

I wasn't going to fundraise this year but as an avid follower of Spud (YCR mascot) I was heartbroken to hear about him crossing 🌈 rainbow bridge and decided what better way to raise money for all the lovely cats and kittens that come through the doors of Yorkshire cat rescue every day.

I completed the Rob Burrow Marathon, on what was probably the hottest day in May and then did the Ilkley half marathon in July on another scorching day and the next big one is the Great North Run in September. I got through to the GNR on the ballot and looking forward to the flatter race πŸ˜…

I am suffering with plantar fascitis at the moment but will plod myself round, as usual. Finding the start may be the hardest part 🀣

Yorkshire Cat Rescue makes unwanted cats wanted!

Every year we accept hundreds of cats and kittens that have been thrown away. We make sure they are well, stop them making babies and then find them loving forever homes.

As a local charity we have to raise every penny ourselves - no head office support for us!

Please help us with a donation or with a fundraising event.

You will be saving furry lives.

Thank you
