Story
On Saturday 26th September my Dad and I will be doing the “Kip on the Kop” sleep out event; sleeping on the steps of the Kop overnight.
Organised by the Liverpool FC Foundation, the event raises awareness of, and raises funds to support, the homeless community. The event doesn’t replicate what it’s like for those who are forced to sleep rough, but it gives an idea of the situation that many people find themselves in, whilst also supporting those who face this as a reality every night.
While many see and recognise homelessness through the people that they see sleeping rough, in doorways or in tents on the street, there is so much more to it; there is the person relying on friends who allow them to sleep on their sofa, there’s the mum and kids who are living in a hostel or refuge after feeling domestic violence - homelessness has many causes and many impacts and support is critical.
So please support me - it will mean a lot to me but will mean even more to those that it will support.
Thank you,
Emma
