On 12th July 2026, my brother and I will be taking on the challenge of swimming one mile across the Camel Estuary, from Padstow to Rock — and we would be so grateful for your support.

We are doing this swim for two very important reasons:

The first, and most important, is to raise money for Marie Curie, a truly wonderful charity that helps nurses continue to care for people at the end of life. Their support means so much — not only to those living with terminal illness, but also to the families standing beside them. Marie Curie relies heavily on donations, with nearly 50% of their funding coming from generous supporters, so every contribution really does make a difference.

The second reason is deeply personal. We are swimming in loving memory of our lovely Dad, who passed away very suddenly two years ago. This was his favourite swim. My brother, Rich, swam it regularly with Dad over the years, but I never had the chance to swim alongside them. Now, I feel proud to be taking on the mantle and swimming for Dad — even if wetsuits and long-distance swimming are not exactly my comfort zone!
