Story

Hi Everyone

For those that know me I have decided to embark on a trek to Camino De Santiago.

In October 2025 I will be trekking across the green rolling landscapes of rural Galicia walking 116k over 5 days to raise much needed funds for St Johns Hospice.

In Spring 2023 my mother-in-law – Barbara Dalgleish was diagnosed with lung cancer. She was reluctant to accept help from the hospice at first, due to her being fiercely independent however once she did the amazing staff helped her find some peace as she came to the end of life. During this time the hospice team went above and beyond for her and our family, as they do with all families who require their care in our community.

Every day for almost 40 years St Johns Hospice continues to provide hope, care and support for local people at no cost to them. The hospice only receives 25% funding from the government and the rest is raised by people like me and others taking on challenges and asking you to help by sponsoring me.

By supporting St John's Hospice, you are directly supporting our community when they need us the most, I will of course be holding events throughout next year so keep an eye out for my fundraising adventures in the lead up to this Trek that you can get involved in from raffles to a round of golf.

Thank you for taking your time to look at my Just Giving Page!

Lots of love Emma
