Great North Run 2026 · 13 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Through campaigning, education and research, the Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of the millions of people in the UK with food allergy, and ultimately create a future without food allergy.

Story

In September, I’ll be running the Great North Run to raise funds for Natasha’s Allergy Research Foundation.

My son was diagnosed with a life-threatening food allergy at just 9 months old after a severe allergic reaction that resulted in hospitalisation. Since then, our family life has changed completely. He now carries EpiPens at all times, and as he grows older, we all have to remain constantly alert and vigilant to keep him safe—carefully checking food labels, asking about ingredients, and double-checking menus whenever we eat out.

He is now 8 years old, and managing a serious food allergy is something that will remain part of his everyday life. Simple things that most families don’t think twice about—food labels, school meals, birthday parties, eating out—require careful planning and constant awareness.

I am raising money for Natasha’s Allergy Research Foundation because no child or family should have to live with this level of risk and anxiety around food. The charity is doing vital work to improve allergy education, awareness, and ultimately to help prevent future allergic reactions and save lives.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go towards research and education that could make a real difference for families like ours.

Thank you so much for supporting me and helping me turn every mile into something meaningful.
