Hi friends and family! Please help me raise funds for Crosslight Advice (the great charity I work for) by sponsoring me to walk 10K on Saturday 21 September.

Crosslight Advice provides debt advice and money education to individuals and their families in need. Due to factors such as inflation, and huge cost of living increases, we expect to continue to see heightened demand for our vital services throughout the year. The advice and support we provide is completely free because of the generosity of anyone who is able to donate.

I have worked with some wonderful clients over the last year and it is really encouraging to see their lives changed as a result of our help. One of the most memorable was a man who came to us with physical health issues, he was out of work, and his benefits were reduced after his eldest child moved out of home. With over £13,000 of debt, he was struggling to make repayments, barely managing to make ends meet and often going without essentials.

We were able to secure a grant for a smartphone for him so he could access his Universal Credit account and a microwave so he could cook food and we successfully helped him apply for health related benefits (PIP and LCW) which increased his yearly income by over £8k. Recently, we completed a Debt Relief Order which has cancelled all his debts and given him a fresh start. It's been wonderful to see him grow in confidence in managing his finances and his overall happiness improve. He frequently expresses his gratitude, sharing how much Crosslight has positively impacted his life.
