Stepping Up For Cancer 2025

Stepping up for Cancer · 5 May 2025
Myself, Mum (Sue), Sally and Becky will be taking part in a 10k walk on 5th May raising money for the Paul Strickland Scanner centre.
As many of you will know, our Dad (Jon) was diagnosed with Stage four Lung Cancer at the end of 2023. He has had chemotherapy at Stoke Mandeville Hospital followed by Radiotherapy at Mount Vernon hospital. He has been a total soldier throughout it all as it has not been an easy process, he has been amazing and we all love him very much.
We would love to raise money for the Paul Strictland Scanner centre at Mount Vernon hospital by taking part in this walk as a family, where Dad will meet us at the end with all of his grandchildren.
If you would like to kindly donate for this incredible cause, we would be very grateful as a family.
Here's a bit more about the centre:
Paul Strickland Scanner Centre is an independent charity that receives no Government funding and the help of our supporters is vital. We help people affected by cancer and other serious conditions by giving access to top-quality scanning equipment, operated by the highest calibre staff.
We need to raise vital funds to ensure we continue to provide the highest quality CT, MRI and PET-CT imaging services, with a focus on providing the best care for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Were working to improve lives of people with cancer and other serious conditions. We do this through medical research and by providing the best patient care using high quality scanners. Last year we scanned 18,000 patients giving them and their families hope for the future.
