Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

On the 26th of April 2026, a team from the FVRH Intensive Care Unit will take on the Glasgow Kiltwalk in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Consultant Neil Stewart.

We walk to honour Neil’s life and legacy, and to remember the difference he made every single day — to patients, families, and colleagues alike.

All funds raised through our Kiltwalk will be donated to Brain Tumour Research, a cause that is deeply meaningful to us and to Neil’s story. Brain tumours remain one of the most devastating and underfunded areas of cancer research, and we hope our steps will help contribute to better understanding, treatment, and hope for the future.

Every mile we walk, and every donation we receive, is a tribute to Neil — a remarkable doctor, colleague, and friend who will always be part of FVRH ICU.

Thank you for supporting us and for helping us turn remembrance into action.
