Story
On 4th January 2026 we'll be running the Glasgow Green 10k.
Kirsty's story:
On the 4th September 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which as you can imagine was a massive shock and utterly terrifying. Thankfully it was caught early, I had successful surgery, a few gruelling months of chemo, followed by radiotherapy. At the beginning of May I finished my active treatment to the delight of my family and friends. I am now on hormone therapy to prevent the cancer coming back and slowly but surely getting my strength and fitness levels back.
Every 10 minutes, someone hears the words “you have breast cancer”. Breast Cancer Now, fund word-class research that helps us discover how to prevent breast cancer, save lives and help people to live well with the disease.
More people are living with and beyond breast cancer than ever before. But current treatments can come with wide-ranging side effects, something that I continue to experience. This can be traumatic, painful, and emotional. Not just for those who are having the treatment, but for their loved ones too.
Please donate anything you can to help Breast Cancer Now continue their amazing research to find smarter, kinder treatments, which can benefit people without robbing them of their quality of life.
Love,
Kirsty and Emma xx
