Story
Three years. Three rival clubs. One destination.
This June, I'm cycling from cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens, home of Northampton Saints, to The Twickenham Stoop, for the Harlequins Foundation Rival Ride.
In 2024, I rode from Ashton Gate, home of Bristol Bears, to The Stoop. In 2025, I rode from Sandy Park, home of Exeter Chiefs, to The Stoop. This year, it's Northampton. The rival changes, but the cause always stays the same.
This year is different for me personally. For the first two rides, I was part of a company team. This time, I'm fundraising solo.
I'm hoping to be alongside some Quins legends for the ride again; the team camaraderie and banter are second to none.
I've been connected to Harlequins and the Harlequins Foundation for a long time. In my last role, I led the partnership with the club, a relationship I was enormously proud of. We collaborated not just on brand and hospitality, but on the things that mattered more: sensory rooms at The Stoop, the Diary of a Harlequin podcast, mentoring programmes, and work experience opportunities for players and young people.
Seeing the Foundation's work up close gave me enormous respect for what they do. They use the power of sport to help young people develop the skills and confidence they need, on and off the pitch, in communities that genuinely need it.
So when it comes to putting my (famously slow) legs where my values are, this is the cause.
My target is £750, I sincerely hope I can beat it.
If you can spare anything at all, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every donation, large or small, goes directly to the Foundation's work with young people in the community.
Thank you, from the bottom of my (very undertrained) heart.
