Story
For the past 22 years, I've been living with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), an invisible autoimmune disease that affects far more than just the joints. There is still no cure, and like many people with RA, I've had to learn how to navigate the challenges it brings every single day.
Throughout that journey, the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) has been there whenever I've needed them, providing trusted information, support and reassurance – completely free of charge. Their work has made a real difference, not just to me, but to thousands of people living with RA.
This October marks 25 years since Ailsa Bosworth founded NRAS after her own RA diagnosis, determined to ensure that no one would have to face this disease alone.
To celebrate this incredible milestone and hopefully raise some much-needed funds, I'm taking on the #TakeOn25 Challenge.
For 25 days, I'll be sharing 25 things I've learned about living with RA across Instagram and Facebook. Some posts will bust common myths, some will explain the science behind the condition, and others will offer a glimpse into the reality of living with an invisible illness. My hope is that together we can raise awareness, spark conversations and help more people understand what RA is really like.
Now for my own challenge...
Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a fan of social media!
Putting myself out there like this is well outside my comfort zone, which probably makes this challenge even harder than it should be. So I'd really appreciate your support.
If you can, please consider making a donation, every pound helps NRAS continue supporting people who need them most. And if you're unable to donate, simply following, sharing or commenting on my posts will help spread awareness to even more people.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. Together, let's celebrate 25 years of NRAS and help ensure that no one has to face Rheumatoid Arthritis alone.
