Swimming the English Channel · 17 June 2023

We are a smaller grassroots charity that provides a unique and wide range of much needed community services in Brighton & Hove and across Sussex. This is through the contributions of amazing volunteers. Lunch Positive is all about empathy, compassion, combating disadvantage, with community impact.

Story

I am Daniel Razeen and proud to be part of this LGBTQ+ relay team. I love open swimming, and to do this challenge during pride month makes it even more special.

I will be raising money for a charity called Lunch Positive, which provides lunches and supper to those living with HIV in Brighton. It is an awesome charity that is providing genuine connection and removing loneliness to the community that is recovering from two pandemics. They provide a pretty good lunch every Friday and more importantly they provide an opportunity to talk to other clients and volunteers. HIV/AIDS had a devastating impact on the LGBTQ+ community, but there has been tremendous progress in new treatments, new preventions, and attitudes. HIV/AIDS hasn't gone away, and we still need to support those living with HIV/AIDS
