Story
My friend David Woods was supported by the Hospice of the Good Shepherd for over 2 years.
David had Motor Neurone Disease and he received exceptional care and support from the Hospice as did his wife and carer Janet.
This September I'm joining Janet and a group of David's friends and family for the Twilight Walk to raise money for the hospice. We want to give something back and to support the hospice to continue with its incredible work.
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs £5.7 million to run each year with just 17% of the funding received coming from statutory sources. The remaining 83% is raised from a range of fundraising events such as Chester Sparkle walk, the support of the generous local community in Cheshire.
