Story
Thank you so much for taking a look at our fundraising page.
As a family with the continued support of our friends we've raised thousands of pounds for numerous charities over the years, including cancer research, macmillan, the brain tumour charity and most recently St Luke’s Hospice in memory of our wonderful Dad and Husband, Dean.
This year my lovely friend Lindsey and I will be supporting St Luke’s hospice again by taking part in their 10k twilight walk at the end of March for the second year running. We will also be joined by the wonderful Wendy this time!!!
It’s now over 20 years since we lost Dean to two brain tumours. North staffs attempted to remove them and he was due to start treatment at Christie's shortly but fell into a coma just 6 weeks after first being taken ill and sadly never woke up. The tumours were very aggressive, and had his story not ended that way he almost definitely would have spent his final days or weeks or months at St Luke's, or somewhere very similar.
The Twilight Walk is a 10k, fairly hilly, very dark walk on what is likely to be a chilly night! That said it will have a wonderful atmosphere as with all St Luke's events, with hundreds of people walking together to raise vital funds for hospice care
Please dig deep if you possibly can and help us raise as much as possible
If you are a tax payer please tick the gift aid box as it adds a brilliant 25% to your donation at no cost to you. Please do not feel obliged to make the additional donation to JustGiving funds. You can select 0 in this box if you prefer.
Thank you so much for your support and making the long walk well worthwhile x
