Story

Hi everyone 👋

In May 2026, I’ll be taking on the Hackney Half Marathon, 13.1 miles that I’ll be training for from scratch. This is something completely outside my comfort zone, but I’m doing it to raise money for a charity that genuinely matters to me: London Nightline.

I was a student during Covid, when isolation, uncertainty, and loneliness became part of everyday life. That experience really highlighted how important it is to have someone to talk to — especially during the quiet, difficult moments when everything feels heavier.

London Nightline provides a confidential, non-judgemental listening service for students overnight, when support can feel hardest to access. Knowing that there’s someone there to listen, without pressure or judgement, is incredibly important to me — and it’s why I wanted to support this charity.

I’ve never really run properly before this year, so training for a half marathon feels like a huge personal challenge. Every run is a learning curve, and some days are definitely tougher than others. But committing to this has pushed me to try something new, and knowing I’m running for a cause I believe in keeps me motivated to keep going.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps London Nightline continue its vital work — supporting and training volunteers, and keeping overnight listening services available for students who need them most.

If you’re able to donate or share this page, I’d be incredibly grateful. Your support means more to me than just a number — it’s motivation, encouragement, and something I’ll be thinking about during every long run and all the way to the finish line.

Thank you so much for supporting me.

Nightlines free, overnight listening service is a lifeline for thousands of students every year. It runs from 6pm-8am, when other welfare services or support systems tend to be unavailable. There are no referrals or waiting lists, and no problem is too big or too small to discuss with our fully-trained helpline volunteers. Students talk to us about everything from academic stress and relationship problems to mental health and suicide.

I can't thank you enough to be honest. Nightline has made such a difference.

This running team is made up of some incredible, dedicated supporters of the charity, including volunteers and alumni. All donations make a big difference and will go directly towards running the Nightline.

Thank you so much.
