On Sunday 19th April we’ll be running the Manchester Marathon to raise money for the North West Pre-hospital Critical Care Charity (NWPHCC).

NWPHCC supports the delivery of advanced pre-hospital critical care across the North West of England. When someone is critically injured or seriously unwell, highly trained doctors and paramedics may be dispatched to bring hospital-level care directly to the patient’s side — whether that’s at the roadside, in someone’s home, or in remote locations.

This kind of care saves lives. It includes advanced airway management, emergency anaesthesia, critical care procedures, and rapid decision-making in the most challenging environments.

Charities like NWPHCC help support the equipment, training, and development needed to deliver this life-saving care.

Running a marathon is a challenge — but it’s nothing compared to what many of our patients face every day.
