For 200 years, discoveries made at Manchester have changed the world. But for everything that’s already been achieved, there’s much more left to do. You’ll make sure the best researchers bring us closer to solving our world’s biggest challenges.

Story

I ran my first half marathon - my first ever running event - in November 2022 and said 'never again'.

Friends twisted my arm to do a hot and humid HM in September 2023. I said 'nope, never again'!

And yet here I am taking on the Purple Wave half marathon challenge (26th May 2024) to support Manchester's life-changing research.

Being surrounded by inspiring people who are the best at what they do here at Manchester has pushed me to be the best I can be this spring. The University lays claim to 25 Nobel laureates among our current and former staff and students. You could say that we're an impressive bunch.

For 200 years, discoveries made at the University of Manchester have changed the world. We are proud to witness incredible research taking place here at Manchester every day. From cancer to stroke, climate change to global inequality - talented experts here are searching for answers. But they need our help to make it happen faster.

Your donations will support brilliant people to complete their Phds, to explore big ideas and uncover new, life-changing discoveries for the benefit of us all.

So please join me in supporting Manchester's life-changing research by sponsoring me to take part in the Purple Wave on Sunday 26th May - my third time's a charm half marathon.

Thank you!
