Story
I know the Great North Run has literally just been, but as I was watching I put in for the ballot for 2026, I didn’t get in so applied for a Charity place with the Mental Health Foundation. So, next September I’ll be running the Great North Run in support of them, a charity that does vital work for mental health.
This is really tough for me to share, I have been facing my own battle over the last few years, I was very in denial about it until earlier this year when I finally realised, I needed help. I am now taking medication and have started therapy for severe anxiety, depression and disordered eating behaviours. It hasn’t been easy, and it is true that mental health takes a toll on your physical health and appearance. With this, I am also focusing on health and wellbeing to increase my chances of becoming better, I am an avid gym goer and have recently started running, I am ready to set myself a challenge and running 13.1 miles for mental health feels like the right thing to do.
By running for The Mental Health Foundation, I want to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and give back to an organisation that helps so many people find support when they need it most.
If you’d like to support me and this incredible cause, you can do so here:
Every donation, no matter how small, means the world. Thank you for cheering me on—I’ll need it on race day! 🏅
The Mental Health Foundation is the UKs charity for everyones mental health.
