Criffel hike · 6 July 2024

Scottish Burned Children's Club (SBCC) Launched in 2001, the SBCC provides a network of support to burn survivor children and their families dealing with the lifelong scars of burn and scald injuries. We provide positive support to burn-injured children and help them realise that, although their body image has been altered, their hopes and dreams are just as achievable. Our Aims - Firstly to help in the rehabilitation process of these children and provide support to their families. Secondly to play a key role in the reduction of such injuries by raising awareness of the problem and promoting safe practice in relation to the dangers associated with burns and scalds. SBCC is solely funded by fundraising events, sponsorship and donations and is run and organised by a group of 'unpaid' volunteers.

Story

As we prepare for the upcoming Criffel hike, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to support the Scottish Burned Children's Club. On July 6, 2024, we will embark on a personal walk to raise funds for this important cause. The Scottish Burned Children's Club provides vital support to young burn survivors and their families, offering them hope and healing. With a target amount of £500, every donation brings us closer to making a meaningful difference in their lives. Your support means the world to us and to those we aim to help. Together, let's make a positive impact and show these children that they are not alone in their journey towards recovery.

Tessa suffered a horrific burn to her ankle after a freak go karting accident in 2022 aged 8 where she under went extensive surgeries to repair life changing injuries. Without the Scottish burned children’s clubs help she would not be the confident little girl she is today! We will be forever grateful to them and Tessa would like to give something back for all the hard work they do for each child they support.
