Story
Pregnancy loss is devastating. It is a confusing, isolating, and deeply painful experience that takes a heavy toll, both physically and emotionally. It changes the journey of starting a family in a fundamental way.
For Harry and I, the journey of having a baby has been far from what we hoped. We experienced three miscarriages and were later told that, because of a shared chromosomal condition, there is a 90% chance of miscarriage in any future pregnancy. This has been an incredibly distressing time for us as a couple, and for those closest to us. Sadly, we know too many others have also walked this painful path.
In the midst of this, Devon Pregnancy Crisis offered me weekly counselling sessions with a practitioner who understands the complex realities of pregnancy loss and I am deeply grateful for their support. At one of the darkest points in my life, those sessions gave me a safe, compassionate space to share my feelings and feel understood.
To express my thanks, this autumn I will start walking as much of the South West Coast Path as I can before, all being well, we welcome our baby in January 2026. My mum is hoping to join me too. We would love for anyone else to join too - I will bring cake!
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to Pregnancy Crisis Care to help them continue offering this vital support to others who are experiencing the heartbreak of pregnancy loss or other pregnancy related crises. If you are able to give, your generosity will mean so much - not only to Harry and me, but to many others who need comfort and understanding at a challenging time.
