Story
A little bit more into why my family and I are trying to raise so much money for Alzheimer’s research..
My mum at the age of only 65 was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, and an aggressive form, this isn’t just a little bit of forgetfulness if you don’t know much about Alzheimer’s, it strips the person very quickly of all their abilities… within 18 months of my mums diagnosis she could no longer use her phone, the tv remote or even know what the kettle was… I never communicated with my mum again.. this broke me the most … then just over three years into the disease she was robed of how to remember to stand, walk, sit and even eat 😢 she was taken into hospital as her body needed help.. she was sent home in a hospital bed and that’s where she spent the last 16 months of her life, she had 24 hr care and just got even worse, remembered none of us, and just slipped in and out of sleep or cried…she turned from a beautiful lady working full time to a little old lady in the space of only 4 years who couldn’t even remember how to swallow food/drink most of the time 😢 She was taken into an amazing hospice in the last few weeks of her life when her brain just forgot how to keep her alive…. She died not remembering one thing of her life and anyone in it….
F@*k you dementia
💜 thank you
