Run to the Bridge, 152 miles from PAU Trentham to PAU Bridge (Penmaenpool) · 11 October 2024
Alison Brind was a huge inspiration to many runners locally, she set a president for many female endurance runners. What she did both in and out of work was nothing short of remarkable. She will always remain as someone I look up to and admire. Her unassuming nature, her sheer strength.
I wanted to complete something fitting of Alison and help towards a cause she was passionate about throughout her career. Her passing away on the morning of my birthday was the sign I needed to look for a challenge. Having already lost my very close friend Justin to liver cancer just 3 years prior, I want to help raise funds to carry on the work Alison did. Run to the Bridge was born off the back of this.
On Friday 11th October I will set off from PAU Trentham and run, walk, crawl if I have to, to PAU bridge at Penmaenpool just outside Dollgellau, Wales. A journey of 152 miles with around 11,000ft of elevation. I'd like to reach my destination by the afternoon of Sunday 13th.
Please help me raise as much as I can in memory of Alison and Justin.
