Story
In 2010 my daughter suffered a facial and dental injury due to a bad accident on her scooter. She lost her top 4 adult teeth and a lot of her confidence as she was only 10 years old when it happened.
Initially she was treated and incredibly well looked after by The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead but needed to be referred to Guys for the restorative dental treatment that she required. Again, we couldn’t have more praise and gratitude to the staff who treated her one of whom she saw regularly over the following 14 years.
In 2024, Stefanie was old enough to have her implants fitted. During the procedures that led to the final teeth, she was given treatment from experts in their fields and specifically designed fittings to enable the best outcomes.
14 years on and she finally got her smile back. Her life has continued to go from strength to strength with the confidence she has got back. We are so grateful to the NHS for what they have done for her.
In addition to Stefanie receiving treatment from Guy’s, my mum received surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy from Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, of which again we are eternally grateful for.
By running the Boston Marathon on Easter Monday and 6 days later the London Marathon, I'll be thinking about and supporting the incredible NHS staff and exceptional healthcare provided by Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital particularly as I run near to Westminster Bridge and see the hospital standing proud in the distance.
Thank you so much for your support!
