Emma Jarvis-Ward is raising money for Canon Collins Trust

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Support our brave Marathon runners who raise vital funds for worthy scholars chosen by the Canon Collins Trust, whose only barrier to higher education and a rightful place in society is financial.

Story

Many of you will know that I have already completed three of the World Marathon Majors (New York, Chicago, and Berlin), along with multiple other races, including my biggest run to date, the Comrades Marathon in South Africa, an epic 89km challenge.

Now, after over 10 years of ballot rejections, I am finally taking on the London Marathon and my 4th World Major, running on behalf of the Canon Collins Trust. I am incredibly excited to take part in what is now the world’s biggest marathon, and I hope to raise vital funds for a cause that means a great deal to me.

During my time living in Johannesburg, I fell in love with South Africa, its people, its culture, and its energy. But I also saw first-hand the inequalities that still exist. The Canon Collins Trust works to change this by providing scholarships to outstanding individuals whose only barrier to higher education is financial. Many are the first in their family to attend university, and through postgraduate study, they go on to create lasting, positive change in their communities.

This work began in 1981 during Apartheid, when black Africans were denied opportunities and forced into poverty. While Apartheid has officially ended, social and economic injustices remain. The Canon Collins Trust continues the fight by supporting scholars who will shape a fairer, more equal future, just as former Canon Collins scholar Nelson Mandela once did.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps to equip the leaders of tomorrow with the tools they need to transform their communities. Please support my London Marathon journey and be part of meaningful, generational change.
