In October 2027, my husband Russell and I are taking on the incredible challenge of trekking the Great Wall of China to raise money for The Kirkwood, our local hospice, a charity that will always hold a special place in my heart.

The Kirkwood provided outstanding care, compassion and dignity to my grandad during the final stage of his life. They also offered invaluable support to my family during such a difficult time. Their kindness and dedication made a lasting difference, and this trek is my way of giving something back.

The Great Wall trek will be a huge physical and mental challenge, but every step I take will be in memory of my grandad and in honour of the amazing work The Kirkwood does every day for patients and their families.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Kirkwood continue providing specialist care and support to those who need it most.

* Your £10 donation could fund a virtual wellbeing session for a patient living with heart failure.

* A donation of £50 could pay for specialist counselling support for a patient and their family.

* £100 could provide vital support to a patient in their own home from one of The Kirkwood Nurses.

The Kirkwood are here to support anyone affected by a life limiting illness, every step of the way. Right now, over 3,000 people in our local area are living with an illness from which they will not recover. Your support means The Kirkwood can be there for them.
