RNCI Meat in the Middle – Speyside Way 60-Mile Challenge
On Saturday, 4th October, the Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI) is taking on an inspiring 60-mile challenge along the Speyside Way to raise £5,000. These vital funds will help RNCI continue its mission to inspire and educate future generations about where their food comes from and how it’s produced.
We’re taking part in this challenge alongside RNCI directors, committee members, and supporters — walking or cycling from opposite ends of the Speyside Way to meet in the middle at Craigellachie.
Walkers will start at Spey Bay
Cyclists will ride from Aviemore
Both teams will race to Craigellachie… who’ll get there first and claim the glory?
We would love your support — whether that’s by donating, sponsoring, or even volunteering to help make the day a success.

Thank you for your generosity — every donation helps RNCI continue their fantastic work with young people across the region!
The Royal Northern Countryside Initiative was established in 1997, and covers Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen city, educating children aged 3 to 18 about sustainable food, farming and the countryside. RNCI do this by providing classroom visits, farm visits, CCOW (Countryside Classroom on wheels) visits, classroom speakers, specialist events (such as Harvest festival, spring show, estate days), classroom resources and projects, STEM activities, transport to farm visits/events, and social media.
