Story
We are 9 family and friends (Anthony, Emma, Jonathan, Myles, Will, Benji, Charlie, Henry & Charlie H) spanning 3 generations and an age range of 65 years! who have come together to run the Cambridge Half Marathon and raise money for The Samaritans.
The Cambridge connections within our team are our eldest runner, Anthony Halford (aged 83), who attended King’s College in 1960!! and his grandson and fellow runner, Henry, who began studies at Jesus College just last year.
We are running to raise money for Samaritans because…….every single day, around 16 people decide to end their own life across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
We know the Samaritans service can help people before it's too late.
With over 20,000 volunteers based in 201 branches across 5 nations, Samaritans are actively involved in a community near you.
Samaritans reach out and work with schools, colleges and universities, workplaces, health and welfare services, homeless shelters, prisons and other charities.
Samaritans also promote awareness of our service at local social venues, community events and music festivals.
