The British Hen Welfare Trust was proud to be named JustGiving’s Charity of the Year in 2018, not only for its primary work rehoming the lives of thousands of hens destined for slaughter, but also because of its wider work raising awareness of the humble hen. The charity rehomes tens of thousands of hens each year while also educating the next generation of hen keepers, exploring hens as therapy, and supporting vets to better treat pet hens through our Improving Pet Hen Health scheme. It's all for our feathered friends.

Since 2005, the British Hen Welfare Trust (BHWT) has been rehoming commercial laying hens destined for slaughter. With more than 1,400 volunteers and 50 rehoming sites around the UK, they rehome tens of thousands of hens every year – the charity’s millionth hen even went to live with His Majesty the King.

As you may know, I am obsessed with my rescue chickens and want would like to raise money to help more chickens find their forever home.

I am fundraising for the BHWT so they can continue their lifesaving work, improve welfare conditions for all laying hens and inspire the next generation of hen keepers. By supporting me you are helping even more hens live happier, healthier lives.

I am attempting to cycle across the Country from Fleetwoood to Hessle solo using Route 62 cycle pathways and Transpennine trail cycleways taking 12 days.
