Emma's fundraiser for Together Dementia Support

Great North Swim 2025 · 13 June 2025 to 14 June 2025 ·
I would love my family and friends to support me to take the plunge and swim half a mile in lake Windermere whilst raising money for this amazing charity.
It’s been a tough two years for us with Andrew suffering so much from all his long Covid illnesses. Its impact has been very severe on Andrew and I’m suffering a great deal from my own mental health.
So to push myself out of those negative places and struggles, spend time in nature, in open water - I’m doing this challenge ! Receiving benefits from even cold water wild swimming!
It’s going to be a huge challenge with only 8 weeks to go the thought of having to swim in cold water for half a mile at my pace means I’ll be in the water longer than is estimated 🫣😂
Andrew’s dad, my Granny and Grandma all suffered with varying degrees of dementia which I know from experience how it impacts many families.
We would like to support the great work Together Dementia Support deliver locally in Manchester.
They help people to live actively, socially and positively, with support for both people living with Dementia and their loved ones. An extremely valuable service provided to a growing need in our community.
I know we’re all feeling the pinch in this cost of living crisis so any donation is gratefully received, if not in cash then in prayers and positive energy for Sat 14th June when I’ll be heading into lake Windermere like a Walrus! 🙈
